Young Shredder

Shred

There’s still a wave on this morning; it’s around shoulder high but a little inconsistent. The winds are WNW, and the swell is from the south benefiting Bondi frothers. The left near 2nd ramp had some excellent little runners – but the morning crowds were keen! Busy. Glorious sunny day, again. Go outside for lunch. […]

Metallic morning contrasts

Cloud Cover

The clouds have covered Sydney and the nemesis onshore winds persist. I doubt anything decent will be surfable, anywhere…so take it easy and wait for Bells to come back on. Tomorrow should be a much nicer day for the beach in Sydney. Adios :: ugios

No reef required, just an abrupt shorey at Bondi this a.m.

Bondaka

It’s 8:30 am and this could be the earliest Aquabumps daily email ever sent. I’ve already swam for 1.5 hours and shot plenty for you. Bondi has some today. The swell is still alive and kicking, Bondi was breaking far out the back but I was more focused on the violet, abrupt shorey opportunities. It was […]

Weeties, nasally, middles

Rinse

Warning: these photos may make you ditch work, strip down and float around North Bondi for the rest of the day. It is currently a whoppin’ 38 degrees outside. That’s hot and muggy in Sydney. I’m sure one of those cooling changes won’t be far away – so what are you waiting for? It’s the […]

Blown out type of morning! Bondi

Summer Blast

Last night’s howling Northerlies have kicked up some wind swell. It’s not pumping, but surfable. Bondi doesn’t favour this swell direction and tends to break more in the middle than the magnetic south end. I imagine exposed beaches today would have some joy like Manly, Maroubra, Tama, Whaley etc. If you like my images you […]

Harrison setting up the beach for the day, Bondi Beach

Golden Haze

Nice and steamy morning bringing down the crowds, early. At 6 am Bondi Beach had all manner of activities going down. It’s manic! Tiny waves dribbling on a seaweed bank. Nothing worth paddling for. Volatile weather, hot, raining, clear, thunderstorms…the full shabam. No, you’re not too late! We have time for you to place a […]

Best start to the day, submerge!

Boom Boom

Oh boy, I love this weather. It’s just perfect. The sun is out and we’re looking at 27 degrees. Get excited. The waves are less exciting. It’s not happening. I haven’t surfed a decent wave in a while now. I don’t think you will find waves until Monday evening when we’re blessed with an NE […]

Teneal really enjoying her morning swim today at South Bondi!

Weed Monster

Let’s get on the weed today!  Overnight, seaweed has taken over Bondi. In the South end I reckon it was actually acting like a bank and making a left form. Bondi is surfable – but not great. 1-2 footers, with 1 freak tube ridden by Mr. Weetman. The water is warm and relatively uncrowded. 41 […]

Cute couple. North Bondi yesterday

Beach Dayz

The weather is warming up and Bondi is a hive of activity from 5:30 am. The weekend was perfect for a visit and the sands were packed. How good has the surf been lately? 6 days in a row of good conditions. Today slots into the ‘surfable’ category…like a lot of days down here that are […]

Wowser, yesterday at Bondi was rammed

Sizzle

Well, that was a biggie. Yesterday was the perfect storm down at Bondi – Sculptures, 31 degrees and a Sunday. Huge crowd madness. Watch my little video if you don’t believe me. Today Bondi is pieced back together and all back to normal. Waves – 1 footers, not even. Winds are NNW (good for Bondi) but […]

Chris Friendy, thriving in the decent conditions

#YES!

I vote YES to surfing today! YES! tick. Suns out, waves are consistent, rip bowls are on. It’s pretty crowded and hard to get a wave at Bondi, so I would go for a drive and score my friends. The weather is just awesome and tomorrow is going to hit 28 degrees. Perfect for the […]

Drifting Low

It is Friday, so watch my latest video piece, this time a 2 minute summary of my recent hangs in Hawaii. WATCH NOW A drifting low-pressure system down south is creating some strong westerly winds in Sydney today. Mid arvo it’s going to really blow. West winds are typically cold – which is why the […]

We were given a little treat this morning...Bondi

Sky Show

First up, let’s wrap the week with a tiny 1-minute video called ‘PLUME’, all shot this week, around here. C’mon, you’re not that busy that you can’t watch 60 seconds of waves…taking your mind elsewhere. Ok now, let’s talk about this morning…it was such a weird one. It looked way too cloudy to have anything […]
