The water was chilly today. I’m calling it 17 degrees, which is pretty close to the coldest it will get for Sydney.
Happy to see a brand-spankin’ new East swell start to trickle in (waist high waves).
It was full as a boot with an early high tide, but the problem is it will go onshore soon before the low. Regardless of the details, so good to see waves after our recent flat spell. The weekend should have a couple.
The City to Surf is on Sunday, and 100,000 people are about to flow in Bondi. If you’re coming out this way on Sunday, remember a few things please:
1) Our Underwater Ballet shots are on exhibit in our Bondi gallery, just metres from the C2S finish line, please pop in and say hi. Open 10am to 6pm on Sunday as usual.
2) Bondi usually turns into a rubbish tip after the race. Go on, use bins! Please.
3) Hang onto your kids. We lost Jet one year in a swarming crowd. Freaked us out. Had to get the cops and all involved.
4) The best time to surf Bondi! As only access via foot. Low crowds.
I think my phone is broken, it’s telling me it’s going to be 26 degrees tomorrow, in peak winter.
