G’day from WA

In the past few days, I’ve driven well over 1,000 km of West Oz. It’s such a beautiful state, especially in the southwest corner, where we currently reside.

It’s hot here, but a fanning afternoon Seabreeze constantly cools it. The heat is different to the east, much dryer. From now on, they typically score 3 months of sunshine (and no rain), which our Indigenous call the ‘Birak’ season – where the tribes gravitate to the cooling coastline and the big reef fish come closer to shore.

We’re sleeping in a luxury eco cabin called Heyscape, dropped in the middle of a working vineyard where some of the best wines originated. It is a great space to unwind and unplug. There is barely any phone reception, and we live off solar and rainwater. The night’s breeze cools the cabin down, and I’ve had the best sleep in years, bang – right in the middle of a paddock!

I learnt to surf around here, the Margaret River Region… there are countless waves down tiny dirt tracks – all which need to be explored in the wee hours before the howling onshore. The water is ridiculously blue and clear – world class.

I’m unsure if I will post again before 25 December, so Merry Christmas to you and your family. If you’re looking for last-minute gifts, we have plenty. Check out our gift ideas page, gift cards or our new book are very popular!

Also, I just joined that weird TikTok thing, and one of my first posts hit 2.7 million. Look out, Jake Paul.
