Howdy…we’re on the road. The Road to the Pro that is…all 844 kilometres of coastal highways from Sydney to Snapper Rocks. I’ve never done this drive in one continuous trip. I’m excited about finding a few waves along the way that fall into the cracks and particularly uncrowded ones (Bondi does get a lil’ hectic). There must be hundreds of beaches between the two states and you’re coming along for the drive.
We surfed a fun beachie this morning that was exposed to the North swell. Water temperature dropped dramatically overnight – think we packed a little light on wetties.
Back in the car…

Road Trips are the best – It’s the reason I surf – 30 years of surfing and I still love exploring and finding a different break dependant on the conditions – whether it’s around my local break or flying internationally – the excitement of discovery broadens everything.
Hope you find regular and rare breaks to enjoy and spark that imagination and shutter lens!
Would like to enjoy this road trip with you – can you mention the beaches you’re photographing please?
You NEVER mention the location! Respect the locals privilege.
Seek and ye shall find.
You never go on surf holidays or surf anywhere else but your local beach? I don’t have time to seek – I’ve got a job, but did like the idea of following this road trip to give me inspiration.
Nothing beats driving up and down our beautiful coastline. I’m about to turn 62 and still go on boys surfing trips!!!! Crazy thing is most of us talk about our bloody grandkids!!
That’s no slob Uge.
OOOOPSSS – you are right James. It’s an INDI
Tons and tons of great breaks between your starting point and destination. Mostly un-populated during the week. Just need the right wind, swell and tide conditions.
Similar to John 30+ years of surf trips on the pacific highway. Love a good surfin’ roadie.
APE – I agree, mind you some of the places I’ve been lucky to surf – the locals have been seals, birds, dolphins and just lonely flotsam floating by 🙂 – Canada, Scotland, Kenya, Islands off Mainland Europe, NZ, USA, and of course Oz!
Keep Exploring !! 🙂
