I muffed up this morning. I think I got too excited about clear skies and blanket sunshine. I swam out at South Bondi at sunrise with some new gear, got sucked out to New Zealand in the most aggressive rip I’ve seen in a long time, and spent most of my morning trying to get back to the beach (without getting a decent shot). It’s not often I can’t out-swim a rip at Bondi, but this one was on turbo. I should’ve shot from the land, dammit.
How good is today looking? After the recent disastrous deluge, we have an A-grade, 5-star sunny warm day. Time to dry Sydney out for a bit; everything is so damp. It was great to see thousands of people down the beach, excited to see a day without rain!
Waves – 3 footers at sunrise, the right at South was the go, but you’ll need a mooring to sit on the spot. Winds – a blissful offshore.
I received so many lovely emails from you all yesterday after my mention of 22 years in operation. Thank you. It always blows me away how many people are on here and some of you so far away from Bondi.
Enjoy today.
Don’t be inside.
Do it.

Thanks Uge and a very Happy Anniversary from Holland. I follow your daily comments and always beau pics. Amazing every time! Been 6 times in Sydney/Manly and nowadays in Brisbane next year if we can travel again from Holland. Thanks for all those comments and pics. I love it everyday in rainy and corona-covered Holland. Keep it going on!! Elisabeth J. van der Veere
