South Bondi currently has a brutal, powerful rip bursting out to sea. If you want to educate people on what rips look like, ava look, it’s like a wild river rapid with churning water and surfers being sucked out to New Zealand.
Bondi surfers love a rip bowl though, so be thankful. It’s also creating well-shaped banks for future sessions. The only problem is sitting in the same position waiting for a set – get your paddle on! It’s cardio time.
It’s smaller today but still fun. Shoulder to head high waves, clean offshores. If you’re not a confident surfer, the central Bondi bank is a lot safer. I’m stinging to shoot from the water, but it’s pretty much impossible with that rip flowing.
What a magnificent sunrise to kick this new week off! The tykes are back in school too! Toot toot. :: uge
Diving weight belt …attach rope and kayak anchor to hold yourself in position!!
Be great to show a picture of that rip bowl to help educate Aquabumps subscribers who may not know how to spot a rip.
