I am returning to the morning routine with a very stock-standard Bondi Monday morning.
Currently, we have a 5 am (ish) low tide, which is punishing local surfers, dehydrating our fickle banks, and making it quite unsurfable. When we finally get more tide in the morning, there’ll be some joy out there.
Plenty of south swell with a longer period. I saw sets overhead high. Currently, WNW winds but will swing more NE dis arvo.
Tonight at 6:30pm at the Bondi Pavilion, local Bondi surfer and film-maker Peter Pecotic, and Warumungu artist Joseph Williams hold a screening and Q&A of their documentary ‘Countryman’ – more info
On a very sad note – they still haven’t found Fifan Satria, the 22-year-old boat hand from the Indonesian boat accident with the surfers from Sydney. I hope they’re still looking or he’s made it to land. Read the local’s account.
