Winter Light

In Winter the light is so much cleaner, crisper. In Summer we seem to get this hazy light, like a blurry filter over everything.

Nah, not now. Not in July. I see crispy clean warm colours, everywhere I look. Anything looks good in this light. Anything.

The Corona J-Bay Open is firing. Here is my bullet point summary on a need-to-know basis:

-It’s proper pumping, and probably getting better. 4-5 foot, hollow.

-Filipe Toledo has a new hair style, it’s bright green.

-Slater has broken his foot, badly and is out of J-Bay and probably the rest of the year

-Toledo scored a perfect 10 on a multi-section-epic tube off. Big claim at the end of the wave to match

-Kolohe Andino was burnt by a boogsy in his heat, and he’s not happy ’bout it. He reckons that wave had the potential to be a 10 but no one saw it  – he was so far down the point.

-Connor Coffin looks prime. So does the Italian and of course Toledo. Heck, so much good surfing going down.

Ok, back to surf less Bondi Beach. Nothing coming until the end of the week.
