Ouvéa

Whilst most of the New Caledonian population live in the main city of Noumea, the mind-blowing beaches and terrain are away from the centre. Today we flew across to the extremely chilled, authentic island of Ouvea. (only 30 mins away).

Ouvea is famous for its fluorescent blue water. It reminded me of Formentera in Spain, but, without humans. It’s a little South Pacific paradise and swimming is like an enormous sublime pool. Not a rock out of place, no rubbish or human intervention on the beaches…just postcards wherever you look.

Water – 24.
Land – 28.

All this, just a stone’s throw from Australia. The closest international destination for Aussies. Ava a good one, Eugene (yes, I have a french name)
