I’ve had a few weeks off the cameras and indulged in rural quality time with the family. Today I photographed Bondi, and even in that short time away, the light has changed somewhat. The autumn sun’s position is right around the back of Ben Buckler now, seeping side onto the beach…I like that angle. The autumn light is a more decadent gold, free of summer haze. As the sun rises, it also is partly obscured by the Ben Buckler buildings, so the beach is littered with dark and bright areas – I like that too!
The surf was blown out, onshore mush closeouts. I tried to shoot some form of surfing this morning, but I came home empty. Nothing is happening out there!
Mother’s Day is 14th May, and she has told me she ONLY wants an Aquabumps artwork from our fancy Bondi Gallery. You can pick any image, get it framed 47cm x 34cm ($180) and present it to Ma in a luxurious black stealth gift box….but we need two weeks of production time, so get busy!
