I risked my life venturing North of the tower this morning with the Wildlings. It’s Australia’s most dangerous surf location – the treacherous North Bondi – a spot where absolutely anything can happen. Riders go right on lefts, 10 Wildlings per wave, loose (10ft) boards in every direction – I’m on amazon now looking for full-face helmets. (Remember a loose board split my face open in 2020, and the local doctors super glued the wound and my eyes shut? yes, that REALLY happened).
The vibe was great though, and the knee-high waves provided a sufficient level of amusement. Winds were calm, and the surface was glass – go for a swim (17).
What’s more exciting is the large swell heading our direction next week. Winds look good too. I suggest working hard now, clocking brownie points…before it arrives.
The Aquabumps Gallery, 23 years old and all, is open for your blank walls all weekend. 10 am to 6pm. You can find us at 151 Curlewis St, an ancient mechanics yard transformed.
