Volcanic stratosphere

Have you been noticing the glorious light glows at sunset and sunrise? (last night was amazing) Wanna know why? In short, volcanic ash is high in the sky – from the Tonga volcanic eruptions. How high is this ash? 50kms high. That’s high…and in the golden hours of the day, it illuminates.

Down the beach today the waves are much smaller as Ex TC Dovi ESE swell fades. There’s still uber fun waist to chest high waves, crumbling on the high tide, giving the longboarders a heap of joy.

The crowd was large at sunrise but the vibe was 10 outa 10. I reckon an 80% female lineup today – which always clams everyone down!

Happy Birthday to Chris Prestidge, a regular down at Bondi for the sunrise surf. He’s also a fantastic portrait and wedding photographer @AtDusk. Book him for your next shoot.
