It was a dim, overcast morning down the beach. Lots of crew sleeping in, probably because of the darkness or cooler weather.
The sun is rising so late, makes it a bit harder for work crew to squeeze in activities before diving into their day.
There’s a little bump, knee to chest high waves. It looked very weak. A few banks had a dribble but not much was cooking. Whilst writing this riveting editorial I noticed the south wind has come up (15 knots) and the tide is nearly high, so that will wreck the good times.

Big wave surfer Danny Griffiths was tackling an enormous Tasmania slab, Pedra Branca when he lost his board. After 2-3 hours of searching the ocean with skis, they gave up. Pedra Branca is a rock in the middle of the ocean (no beach)….so the board drifted for 16 months and shows up on Magnetic Island, a mere 2,700 kms away!
