If you were one of the lucky ones that got up early and made it down the beach this morning you’d be happy.
There were two distinctive peaks breaking…both with a waist to shoulder high wave. The heat was on early and it is going to hit 33 degrees today. No typo. 33. SMH reports it could be the hottest day of the year so far…with some areas of Sydney reaching 36.
Tools down doozies…hit the beach for sure.
Our buddies on Mentawai Charter boat Tengirri are taking bookings for next year. I’ve locked mine in. Best get onto it.

great pictures – thanks ! However, the photo ” Last time I remember it was 1 person per wave” – is like a nightmare but it’s reality – twisted . It is not just the drop in but the Zoo looking on completely freaks me out .
Agree, nightmare!!! why are they all paddling back out to the position where the wave is going to break and not where the wave has already broke….that guy on the longboard has nowhere to go.

Hello from the UK. A question – if it is 33c outside and 18c in the water, why do you guys all wear full suits? Isn’t it really over-hot in them? We get to 15.5c max for sea temp but I still overheat in anything other than a shortie. Nice pics as always, thanks.
18 is still pretty fresh for us softies.
We only have 3/2 rubber for sydney winter water temps. I’d say your steamers would be a bit thicker for your climate?
Word! They are 5/4 plus a thermal rashy and boots etc in any month other than the summer ones 🙂
