In the words of Strider Wasilewski, said with the same enthusiasm, “It’s firing out there”. Well, it was firing this morning before the wind came up. After days of constant onshore breezes, we finally scored a diamond day, gentle offshores with 4-6 foot chunks and spitting barrels.
I swam for hours as ferocious rips tried to relocate me to New Zealand. At one point the rips were so bad I had to get a little help to return to the nugget farm, a bank we’d been working over all morning. So many beaches in Sydney are having a fun day, the suns out, and it’s 28 degrees. Not a trace of La Nina!
Chase That Feeling – a film by BT and Gilso
Today I focused my lens on two shredders I’ve been shooting for years, Blake ‘BT’ Thornton (ex Tour) and Matt ‘Gilso’ Gilsenan. These boys are best mates that always know when it’s on. Together, they’ve been making a film over the past eight years, around the globe called “Chase That Feeling” – an adventure travel feature film based on adrenaline. When Gilso & BT are not adventuring, they’re your everyday Aussie blokes slogging it out as a carpenter and a lifeguard – saving up for their next trip to the snow or surf. The Randwick Ritz Cinema, on the 19th Feb at 6:30 pm will be premiering the boy’s film, one showing only, get your tickets right here.
