Today is the light at the end of a Grey tunnel. After close to 1 week of unsurfable conditions we have offshore winds and 4-6 footers. Bondi was smaller as there is plenty of east in the swell, but neighbouring bays had plenty. At sunrise it looked full and wobbly…but by the time you read this should be lining up real nice. It’s a shame nowhere in the Eastern suburbs handles such a decent swell – you must drive well away from here and yee shall score for sure.
This swell is on the decline, waves will still be good tomorrow but much smaller on Sunday. Thankfully the rain will cease for a whole week as we thaw out in the winter sun. Yep, you can go outside now.
The Aquabumps Gallery is open all weekend long, 10am to 6pm. There’s plenty of new shops and cafes open in our hood so come down on the weekend. You will find us at 151 Curlewis Street Bondi Beach NSW 2026 telephone 02- 9130 7788. Map

PS – we recently changed the email blast engine that sends this photo slice from the beach. I know a few of you have been experiencing some problems, we are working night and day on fixing that (ok, maybe a little exaggeration – the work experience kid is on it).
Uge, the photo of the jogger and the dog is absolutely stunning! One of my favourites you have taken – however saying that there are so many favourites. Great work
Hi Adam, cheers for that. Great light this morning. Finally some rayz, the wind is howling offshore now – looks like hacking the swell apart, uge
The crispy golden bomb wave has got to be one of the nicest waves shots you have. It has a ruthless beauty about it! And would look great in an acrylic block! 🙂
In the pic “Biggest set of the morning rolling in ” is the guy in the middle taking a picture or having taking a sip of coffee while playing pocket pinball?
Hey Uge – any hints or tips on when and where is the best spot to do a bit of whale watching? My mates have said there are plenty, but I need to head out east to get to see them, so can’t do a journey every day!
