Ah yes, the Balearic Islands off Spain…summer paradise.
The watercolours of some bays in Mallorca are off the hook. They don’t appear real. I read an article that the seabed of the island is rich in Cynical Posidonia, an alga that oxygenates the water, making it much more transparent. Whatever is going on here, it works!
The coastline is a network of little coves, old dried up river mouths, not too dissimilar to Tamarama (just a lot deeper). They provide a sanctuary from the prevailing winds while working on your base tan.
Europeans love hanging at the beach – all day. They also have an aversion to wearing cossies here. It’s been challenging to shoot!
I’m blown away at how many Aquabumps readers live on Mallorca. Thanks for all the messages and invitations. We’re heading to Ibiza now. (yes, will be trying to shoot Formentera).
Monday to Wednesday next week the surf in Sydney is going to PUMP. Take days off work, put the out-of-office on notification on. Do it.
