There is a new long period south swell rocking Sydney as I write this. Oh boy, it’s big! On paper, it was hard to determine what actually would happen this morning. 2-metre swell, 15 second period. It’s the period that was the X factor. I knew it would be good, but I didn’t realise it would be this big and clean.
I blew it.
A renowned slab chaser, photographer, and all around Oracle called me on Friday. He claimed it was gonna be ON today. I was sceptical studying the forecast. It just looked a bit small to me. I dialled another friend, he also thought a bit small. My slab hunter mate wanted to get some skis and hunt a rare nugget down south – the full mish. He’s now not answering his phone, so I know where he is. I am sure it’s pumping.
I would dart down now, but it’s going onshore around lunchtime…even swing all the way around to NE by 7 pm tonight.
Crazy day.
Some big 8 foot clean up sets out front.
