The day began with a thick sea fog smothering the beaches. Real humid morning. Plenty of moisture. Very typical of this time of year.
Small waves. 1-2 footers at Bondi, 2-3 footers at Maroubra.
A huge swell has arrived in Hawaii. I just got a swell alert email saying 42-50ft. Gotta love that place…I hope the shack is still there.

I see in the paper today the State Government is thinking of selling Malabar headland. Not good news for Maroubra, the beach. I’m from the Northside, BTW.
Is it just me or almonds somewhat sultry and seductive in a mesmerising way?

Time for Bob Carr to step up as he has in the past for the Malabar headland,and you too Mr Garrett,they can have the rifle range but the headland is a sanctuary that’s historical,holds native habitat,Aboriginal significance and remnant scrubland that’s few and far between on the eastern suburb coastline…..I know we have a housing shortage but why not develop Randwick racecourse…..oh no not our gambling revenue….and Little Bay and Bundock st developments even eradicated Aboriginal carving,Mitton spots that the locals knew about but our govt and councils allow this to happen in the name of progress….maybe Aquabumps could initiate a petition about sensible development of areas so that our children can have a few plants,birds and some sense of place….not a ghetto of latte sipping urbanists.. Who think Byron is where ecology happens…it’s right under our feet,time to respect what’s left of our fragile patches of environment…we will get what we give..

you’re right, howeva it’s been pushed by rich cashbags who live in the castles you can see from bondi to Watson bay and don’t give a rattle about bra and environment, all they need is profit and revenue , put more concrette on the available patch of land with a sea view and get more cash, the government is corrupt anyway and will sell it , waste the money and start looking for another asses to sell .
