I know I should have driven elsewhere. The east swell was dropping and south facing Bondi was neglecting the source. I could only salvage 1-2 footers on low tide banks down Bondeye. I’d think it would be 2-3 foot at exposed beaches, and definitely cleaner today as the winds backed down. It’s been a bit junkie of late.
The weather geeks predict rain later today – and rain again for most of tomorrow. Maybe even some lightning. East swell tomorrow (2-3) but a new strong south swell coming on the zee weekend which favours Bondi.
A Surfrider initiative needs your support as they are organising for some aboriginal kids from the Kimberley to go way down south to Margaret River to get barrelled. Donate and info here – onya
On Sunday 31st October, Bondi Public School (Wellington Street) will auction the services of local real estate agent Chris Volpatti from McGrath. This means if you live in the eastern suburbs and are thinking of selling you could secure a commission-free property sale. Standard real estate commission is 2.2% (that $22,000 on a property worth $1m) but with bidding starting at $5k someone has the chance to pick up this valuable asset for a very attractive price and support their local public school.

The auction of Chris Volpatti’s services will happen at 2pm at the school’s Halloween Fete on Oct 31st – you can find more information on the school website under the Halloween Fete tab. Thank you!
Hi Uge,
The Ditzy Tart here from up the road at 11 Curlewis Street. When I went to uni, I learned that you should refer to Australia’s original land owners as Indigenous Australians, not aborigines. So you would say, indigenous kids instead of aboriginal kids. I think the term has been replaced as it harks back to a less tolerant time in Australian history. I don’t think its incorrect, but I think that the Indigenous tag is more respectful.
Kind love,
Andria at The Tart
