Pearl Jam Lane – look who’s coming to Bondi!

Pearl Jam Lane

Eddie Vedder surfs! And maybe he’ll dominate our rip bowls soon…

Mention Pearl Jam to some of our young readers, and you’ll get – huh? – with eyes rolling back to tiktok immediately. Mention the Jam to someone from my generation, and they’ll reminisce about their youth!

Today, you can walk down memory lane as Pearl Jam has set up an art installation at the end of Hall Street (which finishes 6pm today). Pearl Jam hasn’t toured Australia in over a decade, and it appears Bondi could be where they kick off their Australian tour (I have no more details or tickets or inside goss). Hopefully, I’ll get a shot of Eddie surfing without five people dropping in. (Remember in 2011 when Kelly Slater surfed Tama, and dozens continually burnt him until he got out?)

We had a cloudy sunrise with decent 3-foot waves. Large anarchistic crowd up early, with 3-4 people per wave, continually (sigh). The Southern banks looked straight, so wave selection was vital. It’s morphed into a cracker sunny day – the best. Finally, those onshore winds have stopped, so enjoy this day.

The picture kept will remind me….”
