It’s bigger today, but debatable if it’s better. I browsed all the beaches in the neighbourhood, and it just seemed like closeouts everywhere. Yeah, it’s well over head high and some double head high sets…plenty of water moving…but little joy, I thought. At sunrise, this was my verdict anyway.
The surf community were up early and mobilized. I saw carloads of boards trawling the coast, looking for a wave that offered opportunity. Hell, even Winnie the Pooh came down for a look. (Does anyone know what that’s about, or was Jamie Verco in a suit?)
As I’ve been saying for days, pick your moments, or maybe go for a long drive. Places down south and north would be firing. Especially seeing we’ve got a smokey, hazy 23-sunny-day ahead of us. There’s talk of an ENE wind this arvo that may rough it up.
Today is the peak of the swell for the week.
