In between heavy rain squalls, I visited the beach. There’s not much happening in the surf department but at least you could go outdoors and enjoy the fresh air or take a dip in the bath-like water (it’s still very warm, which is a worry).
The onshore winds were up early and the swell is tiny – for now. Bondi’s waves were just a 1 out of 10. BUT, this weekend an enormous swell is heading our way from all this storm activity. They’re calling it 4 x head high – Kai Lenny is probably on a plane right now.
Unbelievably, our northern neighbours are copping another flood, again. This time Byron Town seems to be badly hit. At midnight it bucketed and now a large portion of the town is 2 metres under. Byron folk – you’re in our thoughts and you can donate here to the floods appeal. These unprecedented, once in a lifetime floods seem to be very regular.
