In Autumn, the light is cleaner, a purer form of golden goodness. There’s no morning humid haze, and the beach scenes appear crisper. Typically we get a lot of offshore westerly breeze at this time of year – they help, a lot, blowing any gunky air out to sea.
When the light is velvety, rich, clean and gold, it makes my job easy…I can make anything look good. Even the most mundane scenes come to life as the golds seep into frame.
The wave machine has slipped a gear, and we’ve got smaller chest high surf with optimal WSW offshores. The water is still 21 degrees, but the land is colder (17) – and the only place to hang is in the sunshine.
