There’s a storm in Sydney and the beaches are ugly. I’d love to be able to get in my car and go to the west side of this big island, Australia – but I don’t have that kinda time up my sleeve. Oahu was so good for stormy alternatives, the North Shore is ALWAYS stormy, and the West Coast is like a different world – sunny, offshore and glamorous. They say the huge mountains on the island block bad weather from the West Coast.
I checked Bondi, Tamarama, Kbay, Bronte and couldn’t really find a decent wave. It’s 2 foot, surfable at Bondi…but it’s not pretty.
