The Amalfi Coast is a rugged place. The volcanic stone cliffs are enormous, jutting directly from the sea – which gives the area it’s vast beauty.
Sometimes you may have to climb thousands of steps with your suitcase in tow…just to get to your room or a beach club. Often you’ll arrive at dinner, huffing and puffing in a ball of sweat – it’s a real work out!
In my past trips to Italy, I’ve always watched (with envy) the boats anchored in the best locations, having a ball, chilled, swimming off the back with all the time in the world. This year our tour is on a catamaran, swinging from island to island and only going ashore for some of the best meals of my life. Perfecto!
It’s around 28 degrees in the day and a cool 22 at night. No, no waves in this region (I did hear Sardenga is breaking last night though)…but it’s an amazing part of the world.
Anchor up! Spinnaker Up! We set course for Carpi and leave Ischia in ten minutes.
