This morning was a battle between light and dark. Since we’re heading into autumn in Australia, the sun rises later each morning. The days are getting shorter, and soon, daylight saving time will end (the first Sunday in April), making mornings even darker for a bit until the clocks shift back.
I spent most of this morning waiting around for light, which only broke through briefly before an unusual sun-shower dampened things. A nice little colourful sunrise blossomed, the third in a week, which is an impressive run, seeing sometimes we get nothing decent for weeks on end.
Living on Australia’s busiest beach makes you daydream of faraway places without humans and empty lineups. These days, that formula is quite hard to find…especially in Australia (15% of the population surfs!). Imagine catching a wave without a 100-litre mal knee-capping you – or just imagine catching a wave without a whole team sharing. How good would that be! Where? Try this remote Tassie beach called “Roaring Beach” I even found you a quaint off-grid cabin for sale, which you can recover after surfing all day! If you like quiet, follow this…

Roaring Beach
Hi Uge,
Thanks for your daily images — always enjoy them.
FYI, I turned up at Roaring Beach at 7am a couple of months back and found the car park overflowing. Thirty people in the water and no banks working. I turned back and went for coffee.
Cheers,
Al
Living in Bondi, 30 people in the line up is basically EMPTY! hahaha
“The Toilet Block”…..Hints of the Middle East.
