Bondi Hacks

As we shift into Bondi’s busiest months, a few life hacks can help you cope with the crowds.

Bondi Hack # 1 — Get your Waverley Council parking passes from the chilled environment at Bondi Pavilion on the beach. Go see Tammy seven days a week! Yes, even on Sunday. No more schlepping to the Junga and forgetting a document or making ten trips to get your parking pass. Best council experience of all time.

Bondi Hack # 2 — When you see 8- 12 little grom e-bikes and bikes parked at Ramp 2, forget surfing there. The little monsters have taken over that joint. Further south of mid will serve you better – in a more peaceful environment. Hell, a sauna in the Bergs would be much more peaceful. School hols are in a week.

Bondi Hack # 3 — Don’t drive cars, ride bicycles. So much easier around ‘ere. Avoid the illegal ebikes like the plague. Better still, get Specialized bike (I ride for them and love ’em)

Bondi Hack # 4 — Half of Bondi ‘works’ from home, so the 9 am mid-week surf is now with hundreds of people. Pro tip – Monday is the quietest day in the lineup at 9 am as many venture into the big smoke. Friday 9 am is busier than a Taylor Swift concert.

Bondi Hack # 5Curlewis St is a total mess. The civil works have blown out. Avoid driving down there.

Our terrific run of swell continues and is not slowing. It is 3-4 feet today and constant. There are large crowds, offshores, and sunshine. Bingo! The water is very blue due to an eastern Pacific current sweeping our coastline, says weather geek Craig Brokensha.

Tip: When there are this many little bikes, paddle out somewhere else.
