Gosh, it’s been busy around Bondi lately. The weather on the weekend was A1 – seducing so many people for a swim or surf.
I know, I know…at 5:30 am the skies blew up into pinks. I missed a cracker. I only missed it by a few minutes; please forgive me. I’m still slapping myself.
The surf is enormous today with a fresh batch of south ground swell. It’s building, and I saw waves in the 6-8 foot range at 6 am. Dang. I didn’t see anyone get a decent ride. Let it settle. Too big for around here. We need a reef.
Local News. The Bondi lifeguards mentioned someone drowned on Saturday night around 8 pm (after all the lifeguards had packed up at 7 pm); just devastating sad news. The rips are so powerful at the moment; please be careful out there, swim the flags and not swim South Bondi (it’s hectic). If you do get sucked out to sea, float and don’t panic.
