How wild was that hail storm in Bondi last night? My backyard looked like Thredbo! It’s all calmed down now.
The swell has plummeted, leaving 1 foot, maybe two footers on various heavenly banks(fact). Today conditions suit the unemployed-beginner-working from home once-a-week types. In summary, you’ve probably got something better to do with your time. Especially now, seeing it’s onshore and really, really small.
Local Gossip
Working and living in the Bondi bubble, much news crosses my desk. Hell, a lot of stuff happens in this little village of Bondeye. There’s a seal that is constantly bugging me in the surf. Everyone knows him (some call him Alex); yesterday, he was caught on a drumline off Bondi…poor bugger – but he survived his ordeal and was freed. Flave has shut down, and Grill’d Burgers is moving in (across the road from my gallery – dangerous). It’s sad to see local operator Drake Cafe close, but now Guzman y Gomez will pump out burritos in their place (kids will be happy). Belle’s chickens took over Fonda. Apparently, that’s good (I’ve never heard of ’em). The people from Raw Bar (old skool Bondi) have opened Lulu Pan-Asian bar restaurant where Tavola was. Zucchini omelettes with peri-peri at Lox Stock are my staple, alongside a Snitz Salad from S’wich. Meatball Sanga at The Shop is irresistible and a snitty wrapp from Shuk Falafel is delicious. Promenade has opened in the pavilion, same with Glory Days, but I’m yet to sample. So much change this winter. You’re gonna have plenty of eateries to choose from this busy season. Of course, post-chow-down, you’re coming to the Aquabumps Gallery, 64 Hall St, Bondi Beach.
