We had a few whales in the bay this morning. I had my whale repellant cameras out, so I have virtually no photographic proof of the visit. I swear, every time I try and shoot images of whales or dolphins – they disappear into the deep abyss – they know I’m onto ’em. I’ll do better tomorrow, I promise.
A very dark morning as we’re just days away from the winter solstice (June 21). Pleasant, neat ocean conditions for surfing, just lacking swell. I saw Bondi had a knee to waist high dribble best suited to high volume surf vehicles. It’s not exceptional, just surfable, and you’ve probably got better things to do today.
Bondi Beach Primary is out of action, and I suspect it will be closed for quite some time after last week’s fire. All the kiddos are now heading up the hill to Bellevue Hill Public School – all 500 of them!
A giant swell heading our way for the weekend – Saturday will be big! Start waxing up the Rhino chasers frothers.
