Our West Oz tour continues in the North West.
The Jinigudera Aboriginal tribe are the traditional landowners of the Ningaloo region. They’ve lived in this region for at least thirty thousand years – probably longer. I can see why, beautiful weather (rains only two days a year)…the ocean is also ultra warm, and the lagoons inside Ningaloo Reef are a huge marine playground – buzzing with life under the surface.
Like your own space? Wow – plenty of room right here. I guarantee you’ll find a beach to yourself. It’s the complete opposite of Bondi.
Here’s some travel quick tips: we’ve stayed at Mantarays Ningaloo Beach Resort (awesome, thumbs up – great for kids), we dived with Whale Sharks via Live Ningaloo (excellent boat, small groups of 10) and for the next two days, we’ll be in elegant tents on a pristine beach, Sal Salis. Ningaloo is the only destination in Australia where you can swim with Whale Sharks, full stop. You fly into Exmouth which is 2 hours from Perth via Qantas. Easy!
I hear the waves have been good back in Sydney. Hope you’re scoring some. Great waves around here too…

PS – this post is from the middle of nowhere, sitting in the car hunting mobile reception (which is scarce)
Epic photos.
Worth mentioning the expansion of off shore gas and the proposed pipeline from Heron Point is posing a massive risk to the area.
