Muggy Dips

Another stunning Autumn day with sun, waves and warm water. I trust you’re enjoying it. It’s muggy but a treat. Go swim or surf.

Over 19 years of pumping out these morning shots I’ve received some really touching emails, this one I just received was quite exceptional, so I thought I’d share:

Hi Eugene,

I just want to thank you so very much for your epic photos and wonderful daily email. I have to tell you they worked magic.

I am a child trauma therapist in Colorado USA. I had a young kiddo come in who was deep in heavy sadness. He had seen and lived too much and bless him he wasn’t even 10 yet. I could tell he was a “water baby” and thought of your photographs immediately.

The Tahiti video and following surf shots from a few weeks ago brought him back to life.

The light finally shown through those tired little eyes. He was blown away by the huts on the water and the shot of the sharks swimming near peoples legs.

He left my office reconnected and anchored in the beauty and excitement of all that’s great and blue, and found something great and awesome in himself.

I so appreciate your generosity, your amazing eye and your spectacular photographs. It’s a wonderful gift to all of us –
