I won’t mess with words, Indonesia has been pumping this week. Why so good? Well, there’s been a constant supply of swell. Nice long period stuff all the way from the roaring forties down near Antarctica. Most days are 4 foot plus with a few beefy 8-10 foot days this week. Broke 2 boards in the process.
The winds have been variable…or non-existent. Yesterday we surfed a very exposed outer reef for nearly 8 hours and barely a breath of wind. Good times! I can barely lift the arms to type this.
Oh…it’s also been sunny every day too. Bonus.
Special thanks to our 40 metre mega boat Ratu Motu. If you want to treat yourself to one of the best surf trips on the planet contact Lisa Ham who manages bookings for Ratu Motu – it will blow your mind. You need to plan ahead, book a year in advance and get a group of mates together. There is 12 surfers on this tour which is a perfect number.
Time to come home, running out of boards, reef cuts litter the legs and arm and we look like little coal miners with all the sunshine cooking us this week.
