Good morning. There’s some little waves around the traps, Bondi was 2 foot and fat. I’d surf it, probably on a fat board though…something wider than 19 inches to be exact. Tomorrow should be bigger but it could be a lil’ junkie with a trailing SE wind and short interval (5 secs).
APPA Awards – We won!
Last night our book, “Aquabumps – A Day at Bondi” won Australian Photography Book of the year 2011 by the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP). That’s kinda a big deal for us seeing there are so many incredible photographers in the awards. So after decade of shooting Bondi, a string of late nights working on the book – not to mention 24 hour Singaporean press checks – it’s paid off! The only bad news is we’ve ran out of stock – so if you haven’t got one yet you will have to wait until September 2011 when the second batch arrives. Special thanks to Canon for sponsoring me and the awards…couldn’t have done it without my bag of white lenses. Also thanks to Ant Donovan who designed the book (legend) and Laura Richardson…

As a 16 year old stuck in a classroom all day, and only a 15 minute drive to Bondi at that, your emails are an escape. Teachers are used to hearing the expression “Aquabumps is a cracker today” etc, only to watch on as us boys in the back whip open out laptops to marvel at the sunrises, surfers, waves and beaches that consistently leave us gobsmacked. Your photos mean alot to us. Congrats on the award, thoroughly well deserved
