Oh my, what a day. The sun is blaring and a new south swell is providing the goods @ 3-4 foot. Offshore all day (with variations of westerlies)…sound good eh? BUT Bondi just can’t handle most of the waves coming through and badly requires a decent bank – so many closeouts rolling in – shame. Go drive, be free and find something breaking properly as there will be many options on this fine day.
Groundswell – Tsunami Relief
Groundswell is a fundraiser relief effort to re-build Samoa post Tsunami! Saturday 25th September a group containing players from the National Rugby League, led by Nigel Vagana, will paddle an outrigger canoe across Sydney Harbour reminiscent of journeys made by their Samoan forefathers throughout the Pacific many years earlier. They will be supported by a group of surfers. They plan to paddle from Watsons Bay, along the southside of the harbour into Manly and finishing on the beach next to the ferry wharf on the north side of the Harbour.
The Groundswell Paddle will raise money to support Poutasi Village, one of the worst affected, in efforts to create a model village for the future. More info and pledge your donations to www.groundswellbuilds.org.au
Plenty of dolphins in the Bondi bay today…they hung around for hours. See pic on FB
